Welcome to the inaugural edition of S*** We Got In The Mail – a semi-regular blog feature exclusively dedicated to highlighting some of the “interesting” deliveries we receive here in the Typhoon office. From stockpiles of snacks to obscure cheese review blog t-shirts, we’ve got it all! You can learn a lot about people from the products they consume – Think of this as if it were an opportunity to dig through a neighbour’s trash at 3AM without any of the guilt, shame or likely legal entanglements!
As everyone knows, nothing in this world is real until its name has been emblazoned across the front of a baseball cap. I’m proud to say that Typhoon Studios now meets that standard! We recently received a big ol’ box of super exclusive “Dev Team” hats, allowing us to constantly show our friends, families and strangers the name of the place we work at.
From left to right: Some hats, a hat, a man wearing a hat
Next up is Lex’s aforementioned heaving bounty of salt and sugar. Apparently he receives this massive delivery regularly, so I’m a little concerned for his long-term health and well-being. That being said, the man gets huge respect from me for the Tomato Pretz. That’s truly a top-shelf snack, and if you’ve been sleeping on them you should be ashamed of yourself.
Tomato Pretz, man. Seriously. Give em’ a try. They’ll change your life.
Here’s Jeremy, our Principal Artist, showing off the custom t-shirt he had made for his side project Fromaliers. Are you looking for insightful, informed commentary on fancy cheeses from experts with highly refined palates? Fromaliers is basically that without the insight, informed commentary, or experts.
It’s not a hat, but it’ll do.
Here’s my suuuuper cool new mug. I don’t think anyone here knows the reference, but that’s their loss – Twin Peaks: The Return is one of the best pieces of television in many years.
Dougie is a Tulpa created by Killer Bob to trap Dale Cooper, thus preventing him from regaining control of his true body after finally leaving the dark realm of the Black Lodge. It’s pretty basic stuff, people.
Lastly – and you may have already seen this on our Instagram – Maxime (one of our programmers) received this amazing Katamari Damacy statue in the mail. It’s pretty big (technically “life sized” I think). Sitting across from it has made me feel inferior about my desk decorations in comparison. I need to step up my game.
Genuinely very amusing 😁 thanks for the insight!
